The Laboratory of Advanced Energy Systems (former Nuclear Engineering Laboratory) has a strong background in nuclear engineering, new energy technology and systems analysis. More recent activities include quantum electronics, fusion physics, and studies of new energy options such as solar and wind energy, hydrogen energy systems, and energy storage concepts.
Advanced Energy Systems laboratory invests in high quality teaching and this has been acknowledged by the engineering physics students. The Ministry of Education appointed the Degree Programme of Engineering Physics as an educational centre-of-excellence for 1997-1998.
