The Forex currency exchange office at Helsinki Railway Station is open until 21:00 from Monday to Saturday. Please note that currency exchange and cash withdrawals using credit cards or traveller's cheques are not available at the conference site.

There are ATM's for cash withdrawals, accepting VISA, Eurocard, Mastercard, Cirrus, and Eurocheque Card (marked with the appropriate logos) all over Helsinki city centre, the Airport and Railway Station. Please note that ATM's in Finland do not accept American Express or Diners Club cards.

Tap water Tap water is drinkable and quite good. If there's one thing Finland has a lot of, that's fresh water...
Tipping Tipping is not necessary. The service charge is included in the bill in hotels, restaurants and taxis. It is OK to give a personal tip of about 10% for exceptionally good service, but this is not expected.
Public
transports
Local buses, metro, trams and local trains all accept the same ticket. Please note that only single tickets (2 Euro) are available from the driver. Tickets are valid for one hour with unlimited changes. Information about purchasing other, less expensive kinds of tickets is available from Helsinki City Transport web page.

The simplest and fastest way to get from the conference site to Helsinki city centre ("Rautatientori / Järnvägstorget" station) is the metro. Buses are frequent and stop at the metro station, shown in the map below.
